iPhone Duo goes on sale in Australia and New Zealand, first batch of pre-order users start receiving goods

📅 2026-10-23

Abstract:

Apple’s first foldable screen mobile phone, iPhone Duo, was officially launched in Australia and New Zealand on October 23. As the local sales date has entered, the first batch of pre-order users have begun to receive the new phone and share hands-on photos on social platforms. There are Apple direct-operated stores in Australia, but not in New Zealand; the local launch situation has therefore become a window for observing the store's spot supply.

iPhone Duo starts at US$1,999 and is priced from AU$3,499 in Australia, available in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB capacities. The phone adopts a book-style folding design, with an outer screen of 5.4 inches and an inner screen of 7.6 inches when unfolded; Apple claims this is its largest iPhone screen to date. This phone is also Apple’s first foldable device.

Apple said that stores in some countries and regions will provide a limited amount of inventory for on-site purchase on the release day, but due to "exceptionally strong" pre-order demand, inventory may sell out quickly. Apple stores in the United States, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, some stores in Italy, Mexico, Macau (on sale date only), Germany, the Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom will accept purchases from customers without reservations.

On-site direct purchase is not available in France, mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates. Customers need to make an appointment to pick up the goods in the store. Apple’s website recommends that users in these areas check the pickup reservation quota on October 24. The estimated delivery date for online orders has been postponed to January 25, 2027; if you want to get the phone within this year, it may be faster to buy it in the store on the release day or to make a pick-up appointment later.

Apple has arranged for iPhone Duo to be put on sale in Asia, the Middle East, Europe and North America after Australia and New Zealand. Apple stores in some areas will open early at 8 a.m. local time. Apple previously announced that the first batch will go on sale in more than 70 countries and regions on October 23, and another 28 countries and regions will be available on October 30.
