It is reported that AMD may launch the first batch of RDNA 5 graphics cards in the second half of 2027, and the complete lineup may be extended to 2028.

Abstract:

Hardware whistleblower Kepler_L2 recently said when talking about AMD's next-generation graphics card that RDNA 5 may be unveiled at Computex in June 2027 at the earliest, but he is more inclined to believe that the release time will fall later in 2027. It is worth noting that the original post stated that "Computex 2027 may debut at the earliest" and did not confirm that the product would be officially launched during the exhibition.

Based on this, it is judged that the first batch of graphics cards may be launched in the second half of 2027. At present, AMD has not announced the official release time or specifications of RDNA 5. This is still the speculation of a single whistleblower.

Previous rumors stated that AMD may first launch an RDNA 5 GPU version, rumored to be codenamed AT2. The complete product lineup may not be launched until 2028, and compete with Nvidia's subsequent consumer graphics cards in the same year. Regarding the number of computing units in the AT2, reports range from 40 to 70; these numbers have not been officially confirmed and are not sufficient to infer the performance or positioning of the final model. The RDNA 5 name, product naming and architectural details are currently not officially confirmed by AMD.

The same whistleblower also denied that the next generation of consumer graphics cards will use a single GDDR7 memory chip with a capacity of 4GB. The 4GB here refers to the capacity of a single video memory chip and is not equivalent to the total video memory capacity of the graphics card. Even if a product does not use 4GB particles, it cannot be concluded that the entire card's video memory will not increase. Ultimately, it still depends on chip density, number of particles, and product design. Regarding the mass production time of larger-capacity GDDR7 chips and whether they will enter the next generation of graphics cards, there is currently no official confirmation from AMD or Nvidia.

Previous rumors about the release time of the next-generation graphics card are inconsistent. There are reports on the market that it will be launched in 2027, and there are also predictions that the complete lineup will be extended to 2028. Memory supply, cost, and product planning may all affect the final arrangement; until AMD announces its roadmap or product information, the release time, first model, core specifications, and memory configuration of RDNA 5 should be considered undetermined.
