MediaTek officially announces the first Pro version of Dimensity flagship chip, scheduled to be released on September 15

📅 2026-09-08

Abstract:

On September 8, MediaTek’s official Weibo announced that the Dimensity flagship chip series will usher in the first Pro version, which will be officially released on September 15. Pre-heating information shows that the chip will achieve Pro-level upgrades in the three dimensions of energy efficiency, gaming, and imaging: in terms of energy efficiency, it will use the DTCO (Design-Technology Collaborative Optimization) process to conduct in-depth joint research and reconstruct the chip architecture; in terms of gaming, it will bring AI-deep integration of GPU graphics rendering technology and the star speed engine to comprehensive evolution; in terms of imaging, it claims to reshape the Android video shooting experience, supporting 4K 240fps ultra-high-speed slow motion and professional creative gameplay.

Based on previous revelations, MediaTek is expected to officially launch the Dimensity 9600 series of chips at this conference, including the Dimensity 9600 standard version and the Dimensity 9600 Pro.

According to current news, the Dimensity 9600 series will adopt a dual-chip layout. The standard version is manufactured based on TSMC’s 3nm process and is an enhanced version of the Dimensity 9500 series; the Pro version uses TSMC’s second-generation 2nm N2P process, which is MediaTek’s first 2nm mobile phone chip. Compared with the N3E process, the 2nm process can improve performance by up to 18% at the same power consumption, and reduce power consumption by about 36% at the same speed.
