Abstract:
Social network giant Meta is planning to systematically integrate its scattered subscription services and plans to launch a new one-stop unified subscription membership system called "Meta One". According to people familiar with the matter, the subscription plan will centrally package the value-added rights and interests of Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and other ecosystems, and focus on bundling its newly developed cutting-edge generative AI features and Meta Verified (original Blue V certification) services to create a comprehensive digital subscription ecosystem that is comparable to Apple One and Google Google One.

For a long time, Meta's business model has been highly dependent on targeted advertising. However, in the face of fluctuations in the global macro advertising cycle, tightening of privacy regulations in many countries, and huge expenditures on AI infrastructure in recent years, the company has been exploring diversified revenue channels. Previously, Meta launched Meta Verified certification subscriptions for creators and enterprises that were billed on a monthly basis per platform. However, due to the relatively single rights and fragmentation of each platform, this business faced bottlenecks in the growth of subscription scale. The new Meta One will break platform barriers and allow users to enjoy cross-platform exclusive services in all Meta applications through a single pricing plan.
In terms of core equity composition, Meta regards advanced AI capabilities as the core lever to drive user payment. It is understood that Meta One members will be given priority to unlock high-end Meta AI functions driven by its next-generation cutting-edge Llama model, covering unlimited high-fidelity image generation and intelligent editing, long-context complex text reasoning, personalized and exclusive digital human avatar customization, and intelligent agent collaboration functions for business communication. In addition, the solution will also integrate the full set of original Meta Verified benefits, including the official anti-counterfeiting Blue V certification mark, cross-platform proactive identity fraud monitoring, 24/7 priority access to real-person customer service, as well as exclusive social exposure and high-end data analysis panels tested in specific areas.
The launch of Meta One marks a profound change in Mark Zuckerberg’s commercialization strategy. On the one hand, this shows that Meta is accelerating the transformation of its tens of billions of dollars in AI capital expenditures into direct consumer business revenue, joining the advanced AI subscription melee with OpenAI ChatGPT Plus, Microsoft Copilot Pro and Google One AI; on the other hand, unified subscriptions help to significantly enhance the cross-platform stickiness of core users and increase the average revenue per user (ARPU).
Currently, Meta One’s final pricing range and first launch countries are still under internal evaluation. The service is expected to be the first to conduct a small-scale grayscale test in some European and American markets.
