Abstract:
Nvidia recently confirmed that it will release the last version of the GeForce Game Ready driver to support Windows 10 in October this year. From November, the new game driver will no longer support this old system, and the Studio creative driver will execute the same schedule simultaneously.
For Windows 10 users, the most direct impact is that they cannot get the corresponding first-time driver optimization when new games are released. After Microsoft ended official support for Windows 10 on October 14 last year, Nvidia promised to maintain it for one more year, and now the deadline is approaching.
However, Windows 10 users do not need to upgrade immediately. Nvidia said that after October 2026, supported GeForce graphics cards will shift to a quarterly security update rhythm. These updates will contain critical security fixes and will continue to be available until October 2029.
In other words, users who continue to stay in Windows 10 can always use the October version of the final game driver, but they will no longer receive new game optimization and regular updates, and security maintenance can last another three years.
This deadline is an established plan announced by Nvidia in 2025. It is not a new policy, but it is entering the implementation stage as October approaches.
