OWC, a well-known peripheral accessories manufacturer, has recently officially launched its latest Thunderbolt 5 docking station. The most significant highlight of this device is that it breaks the long-standing convention of Thunderbolt devices relying on Type-C adapters to output video, allowing users to directly connect two HDMI displays without any adapters.
This high-performance docking station designed for Mac and professional PC users is based on the new generation Thunderbolt 5 technology, with a two-way transmission bandwidth of up to 80Gbps, and a maximum transmission bandwidth of up to 120Gbps in one-way video acceleration mode. This time, OWC has been deeply optimized for multi-screen office and creative scenarios. The fuselage natively integrates two standard HDMI interfaces. With the ultra-high bandwidth of Thunderbolt 5, users no longer need to purchase separate converters or special adapter cables to drive two high-resolution and high-refresh rate displays at the same time, greatly simplifying desktop cable management.
In addition to the groundbreaking video interface configuration, the docking station is also equipped with a comprehensive expansion ecosystem. The fuselage has multiple downlink Thunderbolt 5 interfaces, multi-rate Gigabit Ethernet ports, SD and microSD high-speed card reading slots, 3.5mm audio composite interfaces, and multiple sets of USB-A and USB-C data interfaces. In terms of power supply, the device supports USB-C power output up to 140W, which can stably charge high-load mobile workstations such as Apple MacBook Pro at full speed, and reserves sufficient power to support external mobile hard drives, microphones and other peripherals.
