Nintendo will open pre-orders for "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remastered" for Switch 2 after the 40th anniversary direct meeting of "The Legend of Zelda" on September 8. The game will be released on November 5, 2026. The digital version is priced at US$59.99 and the physical version is US$69.99. The first batch of physical copies comes with special foil packaging.
According to feedback from users on various game forums and social platforms, the demand for pre-orders is extremely huge, and large queues have appeared in Nintendo eShops or official stores in many countries. Data on the number of queues shared by users shows: 98K+ in the UK, 60K+ in Germany, 75K+ in Italy, and 60K+ in France. These figures mainly come from players’ real-time observation of the virtual queuing systems of eShops and official stores in various countries. Users of the British Nintendo store have previously reported more than 25,000 or even 90,000 people queuing up. There were also about 100,000 people queuing up at the Spanish store, and the servers were once under pressure. After waiting for more than an hour, some players found that the physical version or limited peripherals had been sold out.
At the same time, the 40th anniversary edition of the Switch2 console and Pro controller were sold out within hours at Best Buy, official Nintendo stores and other channels, and the resale prices were inflated. The Amazon digital version once topped the Video Games best-selling list, further confirming the popularity of pre-orders.
Currently, the game itself is still available for pre-order at most retail channels, but the first batch of special packages and limited hardware stocks are tight. The community generally believes that such a large eShop queue indicates that the remake of "Ocarina of Time" is expected to become a phenomenon-level work on the Switch2 platform.
