Abstract:
Since its release last year, the Switch 2 has proven itself to be a powerful portable console, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remastered may be the game that best showcases its capabilities. This updated version of the classic adventure looks even better than the N64 original that debuted in 1998. Nintendo took full advantage of the Switch 2's hardware to create the ultimate version of the game, combining atmospheric scene design with imaginative character models.

If you want to see just how stunning this graphical upgrade is, you can watch the video below for a look at Hyrule from both Nintendo hardware eras. The video has no explanation, only picture comparison.
In this video, we recorded game footage using an original NTSC 1.0 N64 cartridge running Analogue 3D with deblurring enabled. Although there are several Nintendo 64 emulators on the market, Analogue 3D is generally considered to be the best among them. It is designed to reproduce the picture texture of CRT TV through various effects and filters.
The N64 version of "Ocarina of Time" was born in an era when the game industry began to embrace CD-ROM, so it had to find creative ways to circumvent the limitations of the console and its cartridge system. Restrictions can indeed breed creativity, and in an era of rapid development of 3D games, the visual spectacle presented by this work is still unforgettable. As for the Switch 2 version, the graphics speak for themselves: the graphics are clear, the text is sharp, the additional visual effects are a pleasant touch, and the art style is reminiscent of Studio Ghibli.
