Samsung Galaxy S27 series charging speed exposed, basic model stuck at 25W for seven consecutive generations

Abstract:

As Samsung's new generation of flagship mobile phones is getting closer to release, more information about the Galaxy S27 series has gradually emerged. The latest exposure of regulatory certification information further confirms previous rumors, showing that Samsung will still adopt a relatively conservative strategy in terms of charging speed.

According to the latest certification information, the Galaxy S27 standard version is expected to support 25W wired fast charging, while the Galaxy S27+ will continue to be equipped with a 45W wired fast charging solution. This means that the charging specifications of the two models have not been significantly improved compared to the previous generation.

If the final mass-produced version maintains this configuration, the Galaxy S27 will become Samsung’s seventh consecutive generation of standard Galaxy S flagship models using a 25W charging solution. Starting from the Galaxy S20 series, this charging power has remained basically unchanged. At the same time, the Galaxy S27+ will also continue the 45W fast charging specification that has been used since the Galaxy S22+.

In the current smartphone market, many Chinese brand flagship products have generally adopted 80W, 100W or even higher power fast charging technology. In contrast, Samsung has long adhered to a relatively mild charging strategy, preferring to maintain a balance in battery life, heat control and safety.

Although changes in charging speed are limited, the Galaxy S27 series is expected to make progress in battery technology. Market rumors indicate that Samsung is advancing the application of silicon-carbon battery technology to increase battery energy density. Among them, the Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to be equipped with a battery of approximately 5700mAh, with a capacity that is further improved compared to the previous generation. The newly added Galaxy S27 Pro is also expected to have a larger capacity battery.

However, even if the battery capacity increases, the charging speed of high-end models does not seem to be significantly upgraded. Previously exposed information shows that the Galaxy S27 Ultra and Galaxy S27 Pro are expected to support 60W wired fast charging, consistent with the previous generation Ultra models.

The certification information also shows that Samsung will continue to adopt the sales strategy of recent years, providing only a USB-C data cable in the box and no longer including a charger. If users want to enjoy the highest charging power, they still need to purchase a compatible fast charging adapter separately.

It is currently widely expected that the Galaxy S27 series will consist of four products: Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra. With the emergence of more and more regulatory certification information, the core specifications of Samsung's new generation flagship lineup are gradually becoming clear, but charging performance is still not the focus of this upgrade.
