The "Loadable" category of the RPCS3 compatibility list has been cleared. About 80% of PS3 games can now be cleared and played.

Abstract:

There are no games in the "Loadable" compatibility category of the PlayStation 3 emulator RPCS3. The development team said that Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X. 2 was upgraded from “Loadable” to “Ingame” after fixing SPU accuracy issues, making this category zero again for the first time since 2023.

This fix was completed by contributor Yahfz. RPCS3 has adjusted the simulation of the PS3 coprocessor SPU thread loading process. When each SPU group starts, it first rebuilds the thread loader and its parameters originally written to the local storage area by the PS3 system kernel LV2, and then loads the program code to avoid damage to the loader data.

"Loadable" in the RPCS3 compatibility list means that the game can be started, but the screen remains on a black screen, and only the frame rate is displayed in the window title; "Ingame" means that the game has entered the running stage, but it may still be unable to pass the level, have serious glitches, or have insufficient performance. Therefore, just because H.A.W.X. 2 has been upgraded to "Ingame" does not mean that it can be played smoothly from start to finish.

The RPCS3 official compatibility database currently contains 3,557 tested PS3 games, of which 2,848 are listed as "Playable", accounting for 80.07%; 687 are "Ingame", accounting for 19.31%; and 22 remain in the "Intro" category, which can only display the screen and cannot go past the menu. "Playable" means the game can be played with available performance and without major glitches that ruin the gaming experience. The database currently has zero "Loadable" and "Nothing" categories that cannot be initialized at all, but that doesn't mean all PS3 games are playable.

The RPCS3 team also previously announced that the "Loadable" category would be reset to zero in 2023. Later, as more games were tested and recorded, games in this category reappeared. This milestone reflects that the emulator continues to fix underlying compatibility issues; to advance the remaining "Ingame" and "Intro" games to a playable state, performance and faults still need to be solved one by one for different games.
