TikTok earns US$9.1 billion in revenue in Europe and Latin America, making first profit

Abstract:

According to Forbes, although 2025 will be a tortuous year for TikTok in the United States, the company's business in the United Kingdom, Europe and Latin America is booming. Financial documents filed by the British company, which governs TikTok's British entities in those regions, saw revenue rise 45.7% to $9.1 billion in 2025, compared with $4.5 billion in previous years.

This also made TikTok achieve profitability for the first time in the above-mentioned regions.

This is more than three times the $2.6 billion TikTok will earn from these regions in 2022.

This is only a small part of the business of TikTok parent company ByteDance. The Beijing-based company continues to operate the TikTok app in the United States, but since December it has been forced to share ownership and revenue with a joint venture funded by a consortium of Oracle, Andreessen Horowitz and other investors.

ByteDance also operates TikTok in Asia and a version called Douyin in China, as well as a range of other applications and artificial intelligence products.

ByteDance reportedly had revenue of $186 billion last year, but has not publicly disclosed any details of its global operations.

TikTok now faces a potentially costly confrontation with the EU and could face huge fines.
