Abstract:
Tim Cook, the outgoing CEO of Apple, has attracted attention during his trip to China. Some netizens encountered him at the Yonghe Temple in Beijing.
The Lama Temple has a special status in Beijing. It was the palace of Yongzheng before he ascended the throne, and is known as the Qianlong Palace. Photos of the scene leaked out on social platforms. The 65-year-old Cook is wearing a white shirt and glasses. He has white hair and a tall posture. He is in good condition and has a gentle temperament.

During the tour, he stopped to watch people lining up to offer incense and pray, and some tourists came forward to invite people to take photos. Cook readily agreed, without any sense of distance and full of affinity.

Cook’s trip is not just for leisure. From October 13th to 14th, the 2026 Advisory Committee meeting of Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management was held in Beijing. This is the first time that Cook has chaired the annual meeting as chairman of the committee since he stepped down as Apple CEO.
Cook’s trip to China started a week ago. On October 10, he landed in Guangzhou, visited the local Wing Chun intangible cultural heritage project, and communicated with the famous sprinter Su Bingtian. Afterwards, he transferred from Guangzhou to Beijing, where he participated in formal meetings and took time to experience the local folk culture.
As a business figure who has long maintained close ties with the domestic market, Cook has visited China many times and has always shown a strong interest in Chinese culture.
