"We can set up some security mechanisms. We can take measures of this kind and that. But I think there are a lot of very negative forces mentioning this matter, and they shouldn't be mentioning it, and they are mentioning things that are not going to happen," Trump said.
On Saturday, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei proposed a "three-step framework" aimed at controlling the pace of AI development and buying more time to deal with its risks. The proposal received immediate support from several other major company executives, including Elon Musk and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.
However, Trump has been reluctant to raise concerns about AI. During his second presidential term, the U.S. government was generally supportive of AI companies. Leaders in the field of AI and other technology companies also support related initiatives of the Trump administration.
