"World of Warcraft: Infinite" announced: beta will start on September 17th and will be launched on November 5th

📅 2026-09-13

Abstract:

At the opening ceremony of BlizzCon held today, Blizzard announced "World of Warcraft: Infinite". This new game will open a closed beta on September 17 and be officially launched on November 5. It will bring players a new experience, including new areas, tasks, dungeons, team copies and races.

"World of Warcraft: Infinite" is positioned as a modern version of the early "World of Warcraft" and will become the third product line after "World of Warcraft Classic Classic Server" and "World of Warcraft" official server. It is not a reboot from scratch like the classic nostalgic server in 2019, but rather adjusts the graphics and content while retaining the experience of early massively multiplayer online role-playing games.

Officially stated that "World of Warcraft: Eternal" is a new starting point brought by the "World of Warcraft" classic version production team. It uses a reinterpreted Azeroth as the background and a reworked gameplay to faithfully restore the original "World of Warcraft" experience and explore new extended areas through enhanced graphics effects. Players can choose between a noble alliance or a powerful tribe, and create characters from a richer variety of races and professions, including new Skyborn elves, Forsaken paladins, dwarf shamans, and more.

Officially, as players embark on a journey in this beautiful and dangerous world, they will discover hundreds of new missions and 9 new dungeons. Master the remastered system and build a common bond to face tougher challenges in two new, highest-level raids in the new end-game. Embark on a journey at your own pace, with continued progress and frequent major updates that will allow Azeroth in World of Warcraft: Eternal to evolve over the next few years. The maximum level cap is level 60.

The game will have new regions and allies. Explore never-before-seen corners of Azeroth by playing Skyborn elves. These high elven exiles were forced to flee the ancient kingdom and can freely choose to join the Horde or the Alliance. Players can explore new areas, including the lush River Glades and Mount Hyjal, which still bear the remnants of the recent battle against Archimonde. There are existing and new zones to explore, as well as new dungeons, raids, and over 1,000 new quests spread across Azeroth. Customize your character's strengths and skills with a reworked talent tree, and discover new gear and items as you level up and conquer powerful bosses. Officials believe this is a good opportunity for players to explore the familiar legendary world through new plot twists, game content, and yet-to-be-finalized story chapters.

Officially stated that in "World of Warcraft: Infinite", the journey is more important than the destination, and the new inheritance system will also provide account-based rewards based on the player's progress on all characters. With the improved visual effects after the update, the game can take the adventure experience to the next level while retaining the original magnificent scenery of "World of Warcraft". New light effects and global lighting, volumetric fog and cloud lighting, and water flow can capture changes in light, and the terrain will also cast realistic shadows as the sun passes over Blackstone Mountain.

Officially, access rights to "World of Warcraft: Infinite" are included in the "World of Warcraft" automatic subscription, and you need to have "World of Warcraft" automatic subscription or game time to play. Players who own the Skyborn Elf version or the "Warcraft Eternal Collection" can join the open test as soon as September 17 (Thursday), Pacific Time.
