Nvidia plans to establish employee-funded political action committee to increase policy influence

📅 2026-08-28

Abstract:

According to a Reuters report on August 27, NVIDIA plans to establish a political action committee (PAC) funded by employees to further enhance its influence on U.S. policymaking. People familiar with the matter revealed that the organization will be named "NVPAC."

In the United States, companies often set up federal political action committees to provide donations to political candidates that are consistent with their policy goals, thereby exerting influence in elections and public policy agendas. Nvidia's move means it will join the ranks of technology companies such as Meta and Google parent Alphabet, which have invested in political activities through similar institutions.

In fact, Nvidia executives have previously made donations to political groups and campaigns. U.S. Federal Election Commission records show that Nvidia executives Gavin Sherry and Sundeep Madra donated $443,000 to the Republican National Committee on June 24.

Bloomberg Government Affairs was the first to report that Nvidia would form the political action committee. Nvidia declined to comment on related plans.
