Abstract:
On October 27, Hurun Research Institute released the "2026 Hurun Rich List". The 43-year-old ByteDance founder Zhang Yiming's wealth increased by 200 billion yuan, becoming China's richest man for the second time with 670 billion yuan, setting a new wealth record for China's richest man. The growth of his wealth is mainly due to the advancement of AI business that has driven the company's valuation higher, with ByteDance's valuation reaching 3.3 trillion yuan.

The wealth of 72-year-old Nongfu Spring founder Zhong Suisui shrank by 120 billion yuan, ranking second with 410 billion yuan; Ningde era Zeng Yuqun's wealth increased by 55 billion yuan, ranking third with 385 billion yuan. The top ten welcomed three new faces: Hengli Chen Jianhua, Fan Hongwei and his wife (302 billion yuan), DeepSeek Liang Wenfeng (280 billion yuan), and Cambrian Chen Tianshi (205 billion yuan). New productivity entrepreneurs account for half of the top ten.
A total of 1,529 entrepreneurs are on the list this year, 95 more than last year and a record high; the total wealth is 32 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7%. The number of billionaire entrepreneurs increased by 2 to 43.
AI has become the largest engine of wealth: More than 160 entrepreneurs on the list have their wealth derived from the AI track, that is, one out of every ten people on the list. The 41-year-old DeepSeek founder Liang Wenfeng ranked seventh with 280 billion yuan for the first time on the list. AI entrepreneurs such as Liu Debing and Tang Jie of Zhipu, Chen Weiliang of Muxi, and Yan Junjie of MiniMax also appeared on the list for the first time. Nearly 80 entrepreneurs are on the list in the robotics field. 36-year-old Wang Xingxing of Yushu Technology is on the list for the first time with 69.5 billion yuan, ranking second among newcomers; Wang Tao from DJI is still the wealthiest person in the field with 110 billion yuan.
Industry distribution: Industrial products ranked first in the number of people, accounting for 18.5%, followed by consumer goods (9.7%) and general health (8.3%); the semiconductor industry accounted for 6.9%, becoming one of the fastest growing industries. The top ten entrepreneurs (including new entrants on the list) with the largest increase in wealth have collectively increased by more than 900 billion yuan, contributing 56% of the 2.1 trillion yuan increase in the entire list.
Urban structure: Shenzhen ranks first for the first time with 177 people on the list, followed by Shanghai (161st) and Beijing (140th) in second and third place. Shenzhen's growth is mainly due to the agglomeration of technology industries such as semiconductors, AI, and robotics. Lens Technology’s Zhou Qunfei becomes China’s richest woman with 127 billion yuan.
Wealth decline: Xiaomi’s Lei Jun’s wealth has shrunk by 157 billion yuan, Zhong Suisui’s has shrunk by 120 billion yuan, Tencent’s Ma Huateng has shrunk by 119 billion yuan, and Bubble Mart’s Wang Ning family has shrunk by 94.5 billion yuan. Hurun said that this is not a true shrinkage to a low level, but a rational correction after last year's rapid rise.
