The GNOME Project has released the GNOME Project Handbook as a new resource to help new developers/contributors get involved in this open source desktop environment. The GNOME Project Handbook is intended to provide a centralized place for developers who wish to participate in upstream GNOME development to learn about issue management, GNOME release processes, development guides, and related resources.

The GNOME Project Handbook covers areas that were previously undocumented, or were scattered in wikis and other areas, and are now easily found in this handbook.

The GNOME Project Handbook was released this morning and will continue to be iterated on to provide additional assistance to new users and fill gaps in the documentation.

Users who want to view the GNOME Project Handbook can visit handbook.gnome.org.
