"Pallu" has been popular among players since its release. Recently, foreign media Forbes published an article saying that Microsoft is definitely trying to acquire Pocketpair, the developer of "Pallu". Forbes said that everyone is waiting for Microsoft to announce "major policy changes regarding Xbox" next week. At the moment, Microsoft is definitely trying to acquire Pocketpair, the developer of "Pallu", and turn the game into its first-party cash cow.
Pocketpair recently revealed that the number of players of "Pallu" has exceeded 19 million, including approximately 12 million Steam users and approximately 7 million Xbox users. The PS5 version is still “under consideration.”
Forbes claimed that Microsoft’s acquisition of Pocketpair does not mean that games will no longer be available on PS5 and other platforms. Microsoft just hopes to get “Pocketpair” into its pocket. Microsoft is currently actively cooperating with Pocketpair to improve the stability of the Xbox/PC version of the game.
It is still unknown how much Microsoft will spend to acquire Pocketpair. Earlier, Microsoft spent US$2.5 billion (approximately RMB 18 billion) to acquire "Minecraft" developer Mojang, US$7.5 billion (approximately RMB 54 billion) to acquire Bethesda, and US$69 billion (approximately RMB 496.4 billion) to acquire Activision Blizzard.
No matter how much money Microsoft is prepared to pay for Pocketpair, "Pokémon" is expected to become Microsoft's first-party game against Nintendo's "Pokémon" series.
