The female e-sports team asked "CS2" to add a female default character and was ridiculed by the community: You are assuming other people's gender.

Recently, the "CS2" female team of the Danish e-sports team Astralis sent an open letter to Valve, requesting that Valve add a female default character to the game to attract more female players, because currently "CS2" only has male default characters.

The Astralis "CS2" female team stated in the letter that female players feel that they are not represented in the game. Adding female default characters is good for Valve. If there are female default characters, more female players will start playing the game, or at least the female players who are playing now will feel respected.

However, the letter was not well-received by the gaming and esports communities, who mocked the Astralis CS2 women's team for asking Valve to do this.

A "CS2" content creator said: "Optimizing the game and solving cheating problems are the ways to attract more players. I have never heard anyone say: 'I don't play CS because there is no default female character in the game.'" Other players joked that the letter assumed the gender of the current CS2 default character.

Some players believe that the Astralis "CS2" women's team has more important things to do than considering this issue, such as their poor performance.

However, some people agreed with the content of the letter. neL, a well-known person in the CS community, said that Valve still has work to do in this regard. Adding female default characters will not affect the game. For example, nearly half of the characters in "Fearless Contract" are female.
