On March 19, Xiaomi Automobile Gigafactory was officially unveiled. Lei Jun, chairman and CEO of Xiaomi Technology Co., Ltd., issued a statement saying that this time the board of directors chose to hold the meeting at Xiaomi Automobile Factory, and the directors have visited the factory and test-drove Xiaomi SU7.
It is understood that Xiaomi’s first car, Xiaomi SU7, will be released on March 28. This is when Xiaomi officially announced its car production on March 30, 2021, and the three-year promise of "launching it in the first half of 2024" was officially fulfilled. Faced with doubts from netizens about whether Xiaomi Motors is confident in opening up the market, Lei Jun responded: "Of course we are confident, because we are Xiaomi Motors and we are fully prepared."
According to Xiaomi Group's 2023 financial report, Xiaomi will invest 6.7 billion yuan in innovative businesses such as smart electric vehicles in 2023, with cash reserves of 136.3 billion yuan, a record high.
