According to Mark Gurman in the "PowerOn" newsletter written for Bloomberg, the 14-inch MacBook Pro and 16-inch MacBook Pro equipped with M3Pro and M3Max chips have entered the DVT stage. DVT is the abbreviation of Design Validation Test (DesignValidationTest), which is the stage close to the start of mass production.
Gurman believes that judging from the progress, the new laptops will be launched between early 2024 and spring 2024. If the news is accurate, this would roughly coincide with the release of the 14-inch and 16-inch M2 MacBook Pro models in January 2023. The 2023 MacBook Pro flagship model will hit shelves approximately 14 months later than the M1 model.
The 13-inch MacBook Air and 15-inch MacBook Air have just entered the EVT (Engineering Validation Test) stage, slightly later than the Pro models. According to the time provided by Gurman, these two models will be released between spring and summer of 2024.
This report is not optimistic about the release of Apple Silicon products before the end of 2023, as other leakers believe that the release of M3 generation products in the fall seems unlikely.
