A few days ago, at the just-opened North American Auto Show, the 2025 Cadillac CT5 was officially unveiled. The new car not only upgraded the appearance, but also adjusted the interior. In terms of appearance, the new car adopts Cadillac’s latest design language. The vertical daytime running lights are connected to the headlights, and the lower surround has also been redesigned, making the overall look more concise. On the CT5Sport model, the trim is black and equipped with a black mesh grille.

As a mid-term facelift model, the side shape of the new car has not changed, and there are no obvious changes at the rear except for a new style of bilateral dual-outlet exhaust.

However, in terms of interior, the new generation CT5 adopts a completely new design in the interior design.

It is reported that the central control screen and instrument panel of the new car are replaced by the same 33-inch LED screen of the XT4, Lyriq and gasoline version of the Escalade. The screen also has a certain curvature and is slightly bent towards the driver.

In order to further improve the intelligence level of CT5, Cadillac also provides it with an optional 5G Wi-Fi hotspot and a set of Google applications built into the infotainment system, including Google Maps and Google Assistant. Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant is also integrated into the system.

At the same time, the system also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

In terms of intelligent driving, the new CT5 also adds more standard driving assistance functions, including blind spot steering assist, intersection automatic emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, and Super Cruise, which is General Motors' highway driverless system.

In terms of power, the new car still uses a 2.0T four-cylinder engine, providing 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, while upgrading to a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 brings 335 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. Paired with a 10AT gearbox, a four-wheel drive system is available as an option.

As a model that competes with the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Audi A4L, the new CT5 seems to have more advantages in terms of appearance, power, and cost-effectiveness. Coupled with the blessing of intelligent and assisted driving systems, it is likely to pose a threat to first-tier luxury brands.
