Apple introduces new surface treatments for its iPhone "Pro" series every year and tries a variety of configuration changes. Launching new models in the same color would lead to a bland strategy, which is why the company changes colorways every 12 months. This time, a Middle Eastern retailer previewed that iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max may adopt a new brown appearance, which will be the first time Apple has used this color.
The trailer also hints that iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will get a new macro function that can capture more details when zooming in.
The notice was released by SharafDG, a well-known consumer electronics retailer in Dubai. Except for the "stay tuned" mentioned at the end of the 14-second short film, there is no other text highlighting the new features of iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The video conveys information in black and white. The subtle hints were noticed by @emkwan, who posted this teaser on X, showing a cup of coffee.
The video zooms in on the coffee, revealing the iconic triple rear camera array, and ends with two words of text. Now, the drinks alone reveal that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will come in new colors, but there's something else too. The way the coffee cup is zoomed in in the video suggests Apple may introduce new macro capabilities to both flagships, capturing incredible detail at stunning zoom levels.
Currently, Apple starts to provide this feature with iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, and the ultra-wide-angle camera is used to take macro photos. The company may introduce a new feature category to this imaging capability, offering better close-ups. While we don't know all of these details yet, Apple's "It's Glowtime" event on September 9 is only a week away, so there's not much time left to unveil and learn about the new flagship.
