The reporter learned from Changguang Satellite Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Changguang Satellite) on September 2 that the company recently released the world's first high-definition global annual map - the "Jilin-1" global map.
It is reported that the "Jilin-1" global map released this time was produced using 1.2 million images selected from the 6.9 million "Jilin-1" satellite images. The results cover a cumulative area of 130 million square kilometers, achieving full coverage of sub-meter-level images of the global land area except Antarctica and Greenland. Images with a resolution of 0.5 meters account for more than 90%, the image coverage phase in a single year accounts for more than 95%, and the overall cloud cover is less than 2%. Compared with similar aerospace information products around the world, this result takes into account high spatial resolution, high temporal resolution and high coverage, and has significant uniqueness of results and advanced indicators.
With its high image quality, fast update speed, and wide coverage area, the "Jilin No. 1" global map can be used for business applications in many fields such as environmental protection, forestry supervision, and natural resource surveys, providing government agencies and industry users with refined remote sensing information and product services. As the core carrier of high-precision geospatial information, this result is also an important basis for accurately describing changes in global spatiotemporal patterns, and is of strategic significance for building a world-class refined remote sensing application service system.
Up to now, Changguang Satellite has achieved 108 "Jilin-1" satellites operating in orbit, building the world's largest sub-meter commercial remote sensing satellite constellation, providing massive high-definition remote sensing data for the annual update of the "Jilin-1" global map.
