The first volume of the series of fantasy novels "A Song of Ice and Fire" created by George RR Martin was originally released in 1996. After the fifth volume "A Dance with Dragons" was released in July 2011, the sixth volume "The Winds of Winter" has not yet been released.

Recently, in an interview with the foreign media "Hollywood Reporter", George RR Martin expressed some of his thoughts on the creation of Volume 6 of "A Song of Ice and Fire".

"Unfortunately, I procrastinated for 13 years," Martin said. "Every time I say this, I think, 'How did I procrastinate for 13 years?' I don't know, it happens every day. But it's still a priority. A lot of people are already writing my obituary. [They say] 'Oh, he will never finish it.' Maybe they are right, I don't know. I (just know) I am alive now! I look (yet) quite energetic!"

For fans of the series, George R.R. Martin's delay in releasing the sixth volume of "A Song of Ice and Fire" is indeed an unpleasant thing, not to mention that Martin also admitted in interviews that he had doubts about whether he could complete the work. But the good news is that Martin has no plans to retire, and he does regard completing "A Song of Ice and Fire" as his most important thing at the moment.
