Recently, the female sales champion who sold 170 Porsches in 2023 once again shared her 2024 record, saying that she signed the last contract for 170 units on the afternoon of December 31, 2024, and sold 170 units for two consecutive years. She also said in the live broadcast: "170 units were sold in 2023. It would be a shame if we can't sell them in 2024."
In an interview in 2024, Mou Qianwen said that he would not blindly sell things, but would be more like a reliable friend, sharing Porsche-related knowledge and suggestions with customers. Therefore, he has accumulated many regular customers. Some old customers will buy two or three cars from him and introduce friends to buy cars. "Sincerity is the ultimate skill."
After seeing this scene, many people still feel that Porsche is still so popular in China, but the reality is exactly the opposite.
According to domestic media reports, many domestic Porsche offline stores have suddenly closed recently, including Ordos, Yiwu, Tangshan, Zhengzhou and other places.
In this regard, Porsche China President and CEO Pan Lichi told reporters: "The current goal submitted by Porsche China to the German headquarters is to reduce the number of dealers to about 100 by December 31, 2026."
This figure is equivalent to the need to "slim down" one-third of Porsche's existing channels.
From 2021 to 2023, Porsche's new car sales in the Chinese market will be 95,700, 93,200, and 79,300 respectively. In 2022 and 2023, sales will decline by 2.6 and 14.9 percentage points. The Chinese market has become the only market where Porsche has declined globally.
The overall sales volume of Porsche in China in 2024 has not yet been released. Published data shows that in the first three quarters of 2024, Porsche sales in the Chinese market were 43,300 vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 29%.
So the question is, can Porsche get better again in China?
