Fujian Fuyao University of Science and Technology was approved for "zero salary re-employment" by President Wang Shuguo

Recently, Fujian Fuyao University of Science and Technology, which was established with a donation of 10 billion from "Glass King" Cao Dewang, was officially approved, and Wang Shuguo was officially announced as the president.It is reported that Wang Shuguo once took charge of two "double first-class" universities, Harbin Institute of Technology and Xi'an Jiaotong University, and retired from Xi'an Jiaotong University last year.

According to CCTV-4 reports, Wang Shuguo’s appointment as the president of Fuyao University of Science and Technology can be described as “zero salary re-employment”.He said that he has a pension to protect his life and works voluntarily at Fuyao University of Science and Technology without receiving any salary.

I chose this path entirely because of my educational ideals.

Wang Shuguo said: "History has given me a rare opportunity. I am very lucky to be a leading school in this era."

It is understood that Fuyao University of Science and Technology is being established by a foundation founded by Cao Dewang, founder and chairman of Fuyao Glass Industry Group, with a planned investment of 10 billion yuan.

The first batch of four general undergraduate majors including Computer Science and Technology, Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering are set up. The number of full-time students in the school is tentatively set at 8,000.

Cao Dewang has previously stated that the goal of Fuyao University of Science and Technology is to benchmark against Stanford University.
