According to Bloomberg, people familiar with the matter said that American artificial intelligence startup Perplexity has reached an agreement with Lenovo’s Motorola to integrate its AI assistant on the latter’s mobile phones. People familiar with the matter said the cooperation between Perplexity and Motorola will be announced this month.

Motorola plans to host a product launch event in New York City on April 24, when it will announce the partnership. At the same time, Perplexity is also negotiating a similar cooperation with Samsung Electronics, but the negotiations are still in the early stages, involving making Perplexity a default AI assistant option for Samsung or pre-installing Perplexity's Android application on Samsung phones.

Motorola will pre-install Perplexity's AI assistant on its phones as a Google Gemini alternative. Perplexity will also provide a customized user interface on the upgraded version of Motorola’s Blade foldable phone. Motorola will also encourage users to try Perplexity through marketing.

Currently, Motorola not only provides self-developed AI systems on its mobile phones, but also supports Google Gemini. Samsung’s strategy is similar, providing its own Bixby service while also integrating Google’s AI platform.
