With the official release of Ubuntu 25.04 Plucky Puffin, Ubuntu 25.04 is also launched simultaneously as a domestic "Chinese enhanced version" based on it.Ubuntu Kylin is also an open source operating system. It provides a more stable and easier-to-use Linux system for global users, especially Chinese users, by developing user-friendly desktop environments and application software with specific needs.
Ubuntu Kylin 25.04 is built based on the Linux 6.14 kernel. It has made major upgrades to the basic libraries, subsystems, and core software components, enhancing the stability and compatibility of the system and bringing a smoother and more reliable user experience. This version will be supported for 9 months.

The Ubuntu team and the Ubuntu Kylin team dedicate this version of the system to Steve Langasek, a long-time and beloved member of the Ubuntu release team.
Known as vorlon in the community, he is a software repository administrator and a member of the technical committee, SRU team, etc.
Since the first version of Ubuntu Kylin 13.04 was released in 2013, Steve has provided a lot of support in terms of software package review, modification and storage, and is very trustworthy.
On January 1, 2025, Steve unfortunately passed away due to illness. Thanks for everything he has done.
