Since its release in October 2024, the Windows 11 24H2 version has been plagued by many known issues and upgrade restrictions. Of course, Microsoft has been gradually fixing these problems and gradually lifting restrictions.Today, Microsoft has finally removed another important upgrade restriction, allowing more Windows 10 and Windows 11 users to smoothly upgrade to the 24H2 version.

The restrictions lifted this time involve "Easy Anti-Cheat" anti-cheat software, which is used in many popular games such as "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" and "Fortnite."
According to official documentation, the affected system will experience a blue screen of death with the error code "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT" when running related games.
This upgrade restriction will be implemented on September 30, 2024. Now, after nearly 10 months of hard work, Microsoft finally lifted this restriction on July 24, 2025.
That is to say, affected users can finally install Windows 11 24H2 through Windows Update. However, Windows Update may prompt users to update games that use incompatible Easy Anti-Cheat versions.
It should be noted that the compatibility issue with Easy Anti-Cheat only exists in the Windows 11 24H2 version. If the user is running an older version of Windows 11 or Windows 10, the system will not crash.
