Google on Wednesday released its large-scale language model Gemini, which it claims is the first model to surpass human experts in MMLU (massive multi-task language understanding). Google CEO Sundar Pichai posted on the
GeminiUltra's performance exceeds the current state-of-the-art on 30 out of 32 widely used academic benchmarks. With a score of 90.0%, GeminiUltra is the first model to outperform human experts on MMLU. "
Tesla CEO Elon Musk just commented on Pichai’s post: “Impressive.”
Musk also responded to a post from Demis Hassabis, CEO of Google DeepMind and representative of the Gemini team, congratulating him.
Hassabis wrote in the post: "The Gemini era is here. We are excited to launch Gemini 1.0, our most powerful and versatile AI model. It is inherently multi-modal and can understand many types of information. Efficient and flexible, it comes in 3 sizes, each of which is best in class and optimized for different uses."
