Alibaba will officially announce major business adjustments on September 10, involving the restart of Koubei.com and the coordinated development of Amap Group Buying. According to people familiar with the matter, this business adjustment involves major layout in the local life service field, including the restart of Koubei.com and the self-operated group buying business of Amap, aiming to restructure the local life consumption decision-making system and benchmark industry giants such as Dianping.

It is reported that Koubei.com, as Alibaba’s traditional business in the local life field, has attracted much attention this time. This will be the third major restart of Koubei.com since its acquisition in 2008. Koubei.com was founded in 2004. After being acquired by Alibaba in 2008, it has gone through different business lines such as Yahoo China, Taobao, Alipay, Ele.me and AutoNavi, and has experienced suspension and restart many times. With this restart, Koubei.com will use its own products to build an independent evaluation system, and combine merchant consumption orders and evaluation data from Ele.me, AutoNavi and Alipay to create a new consumer decision-making evaluation system to directly benchmark Dianping.
At the same time, Amap will also play an important role in this business adjustment. According to reports, AutoNavi will launch a self-operated group buying business and is currently actively building related product capabilities.
