South Korean chip giant SK Hynix and Naver Cloud announced on Wednesday that they will cooperate to develop advanced artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to meet the growing demand for high-performance chips in data centers. According to the memorandum of understanding signed by the two companies the day before, they will conduct testing of next-generation artificial intelligence chips in actual operating data centers.

The two companies noted that the collaboration is of great significance considering that optimization between hardware and software has become a key factor in determining the competitiveness of artificial intelligence services.

SK hynix and Naver Cloud will accelerate artificial intelligence response speed and reduce operating costs through joint research.

SK hynix said, "Ensuring products that are verified in actual operating environments is crucial to improving technology leadership in the global artificial intelligence solution market. Through cooperation with Naver Cloud, high-performance chips that meet market needs can be developed."

The two companies will also jointly conduct research and patent applications, and jointly participate in global artificial intelligence conferences.
