Zhang Minggang, deputy general manager of Huawei France Branch, revealed,Huawei's first overseas factory has been confirmed to land in France and is expected to be put into production by the end of 2025.Zhang Minggang said that Huawei's French factory is located in Brumat, a small town in the Rhine Province, covering an area of about 8 hectares (approximately 80,000 square meters).
The project is expected to invest 200 million euros (approximately RMB 1.54 billion), and the annual output value can reach 1 billion euros (approximately RMB 7.72 billion). The return rate is quite high, and it will create 800 jobs at the same time, including 300 in the near future and 500 in the long term.
This factory is expected toAnnual production of 1 billion devices, not smartphones, but chipsets, motherboards and other components required for 4G/5G base stations, can supply the entire European market.
Huawei entered France in 2003 and currently has 6 R&D centers and 1 global design center in Paris, providing nearly 10,000 job opportunities.
France used to be Huawei's largest overseas market (2021 revenue of 2.5 billion euros), and was even regarded as a second home by Ren ZhengfeiAs early as 2019, Huawei announced that it would set up a factory in France. It was originally planned to be put into production in early 2023, but it was delayed for a long time due to various reasons such as environmental protection.
