According to technology website 9to5mac, there is the latest news on the mysterious AI hardware that OpenAI is collaborating with former Apple chief design officer Jony Ive. The hardware already has prototypes and is expected to be produced within two years. Emerson Collective, the philanthropic arm of Jobs' widow, Laurene Powell Jobs, held a demo day on Monday. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Ivey and Laurenna had a conversation on stage.

Ultraman and Ivey shared a little about their collaboration at the event. The duo said they already have the first prototypes of the AI hardware and expect to start production in less than two years.

"We finally made the first prototype," said Altman. "I couldn't believe how sophisticated and exciting it was. But looking back at the development process now, I can see that all the elements were integrated into it in a way that would have been difficult to achieve in any other way, and finally gave birth to this extraordinary result."

When Laurenna asked when the equipment would be ready for production, Ivey confidently said the product would be ready in two years. However, it's unclear how this hardware will look and function.

However, Altman pointed out that the iPhone experience is like walking in Times Square, with all kinds of distracting distractions. He later mentioned that the iPhone was the only product he truly loved and used. He hopes that OpenAI's hardware can regain some of the authenticity lost by the iPhone.

At the same time, Ivey specifically pointed out that ceramics is a material that he admires and hopes to use more in the future. Apple's current mobile phones use a new generation of super-ceramic panels.

News of the formal cooperation between OpenAI and Ivey’s design team was made public in May this year, but Ivey confirmed its cooperation with OpenAI as early as a year ago. The only information the outside world has learned since then is that the team is working on a series of products without displays.
