Today (December 16), Cherry Company confirmed that the global sales of "Hollow Knight: Silk Song" have reached 7 million copies, and more exciting new content is coming soon. Cherry said that the sales figures announced for "Hollow Knight: Silk Song" do not include the number of players playing through Xbox Game Pass. The studio pointed out that in addition to the sales it has counted, "millions" of players have experienced the game through Xbox Game Pass.
Cherry Club also stated that as the number of players grows, a large number of fan creations, module content and diversified play strategies have emerged in the community, and players also show strong interaction and support when dealing with game challenges. The studio believes that this continued community activity is of great significance to the team and serves as a source of motivation for them to continue to expand the game's content.

While "Hollow Knight: Silk Song" continues to be updated, Cherry Society also announced that they are working hard to develop an enhanced version of "Hollow Knight" for the Nintendo Switch 2 platform. "Hollow Knight" Nintendo Switch 2 version will integrate all the updates and technical improvements that "Silk Song" received on the platform, including high frame rate mode, higher resolution, and more additional graphical effects.
Like "Silk Song", players who already own the Nintendo Switch version of "Hollow Knight" can upgrade and download it for free when the Switch 2 version is officially launched in 2026.
