On February 9, local time in the United States, the local court in Los Angeles started a trial on the case of two American women suing SNS platform giant Meta and YouTube. ·In response to the accusation, Meta and YouTube argued in court that Kelly's serious psychological problems were not caused by SNS social platforms, but by her family environment.

·Kelly’s defense lawyer accused mainstream SNS applications such as YouTube as “digital gambling machines” in front of the jury, and the “infinite scrolling and refreshing” function is the main culprit that leads to addiction.

·The case is still under trial. If the SNS giants lose the lawsuit in the end, they may face huge compensation of billions of dollars and complete forced modification of application settings.
