Apple's latest entry-level laptop, MacBook Neo, is facing its competitors in an almost "playful" manner. According to the evaluation of Notebookcheck,This device equipped with the A18 Pro mobile phone chip has surpassed competing mobile platform products from AMD, Intel and Qualcomm in benchmark tests, even leaving some desktop processors behind.
Data shows that in the Cinebench 2024 single-core test, which took about 10 minutes, the A18 Pro consumed only 3.5-4 watts, but achieved a high score of 147 points.
This result not only surpasses all x86 mobile processors in the database, but also leaves behind the two desktop flagships, Intel Core Ultra 9 285K and AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D.

Even Apple’s own M3 series chips are slightly inferior in this scenario.
This means that the performance of MacBook Neo in a single-core scenario has surpassed all mainstream x86 and ARM mobile platforms currently on the market.Might also explain why Apple isn't even using the more powerful A19 Pro.
In addition, MacBook Neo is also equipped with an aluminum alloy body, a 500-nit brightness IPS screen and 100% sRGB color gamut coverage. Combined with the advantages of the macOS system ecosystem, Notebookcheck believes that MacBook Neo may truly subvert the entry-level laptop market.
