Gamer grandma Hamako Mori, who is famous for still playing games at the age of 96, has ended her three-year hiatus and started posting video updates again, letting her fans breathe a sigh of relief. In the latest video, the grandma explains that she was in an accident and had to be hospitalized. After three years of care and rehabilitation, she hopes for a speedy recovery.
She said she was too energetic one day and slipped in the hallway. The accident left her with three broken bones and the ability to stand and walk independently. While she hopes to be able to walk again soon, she's not playing any video games yet.
Hamako Mori was certified by Guinness World Records as the oldest gaming video blogger in 2019 (this honor was won by Chinese gamer "Old Man Yang" in 2024). The grandmother got into video games after seeing her grandchildren play them for long periods of time. It has been 12 years since she released the video in 2014. The last game she played before stopping was "Resident Evil 4: Remake".
Now fans are delighted that the grandma is back on the YouTube platform, with many commenting saying they are happy to see her and wishing her a speedy recovery. Although they don't know that she can continue to play video games, fans said it would be nice to see her again.
