According to media reports,The AEP100 liquid hydrogen fuel turboprop engine independently developed by the Hydrogen Aviation Power Team of China Aerospace Engineering Research Institute recently successfully completed ignition and performance debugging tests in a ground test environment.During the test, all indicators of the engine and liquid hydrogen transportation system were normal. The whole machine operates stably in all conditions, achieving the first domestic performance of a megawatt-class liquid hydrogen fuel aviation engine that meets the performance standards.

Liquid hydrogen is widely regarded as an ideal path to achieve deep decarbonization of the aviation industry due to its extremely high energy density and zero-carbon emission characteristics. This test verified the technical feasibility of liquid hydrogen aviation engines, marking that my country has conquered the key technology of liquid hydrogen fuel aviation turbine power, laying a solid foundation for this technology to move from the experimental stage to engineering applications.

In the next step, liquid hydrogen aviation engine technology is expected to be the first to be applied in unmanned aerial logistics, regional aviation and other scenarios, and gradually expand to mainline aviation.

Its development will activate a trillion-level industrial chain covering green hydrogen preparation, hydrogen liquefaction, low-temperature storage and transportation, and refueling infrastructure, drive collaborative innovation in high-end equipment manufacturing and new materials industries, and form a strong trend of leading the development of strategic emerging industries with breakthroughs in advanced aviation technology.

Overcome key technologies! For the first time, the performance of a megawatt-class liquid hydrogen fuel aviation engine reaches the standard
