Earlier, Microsoft published a blog announcing that it would improve the performance and user experience of Windows 11. At that time, some users expressed the hope that Microsoft could handle the artificial intelligence functions and Microsoft Copilot-related services in Windows 11 more carefully.
Currently, Microsoft directly installs Copilot in Windows 11 by default, and many services call the artificial intelligence services provided by Copilot. For example, in Notepad, users can use Copilot to improve text, summarize, or change the tone.
But the reality is that many users don’t like Copilot, which has forced Microsoft to gradually remove the Copilot brand logo from systems and applications. The latest change is that the AI function in Notepad no longer uses the Copilot brand.

In the latest Notepad update, Microsoft has renamed the AI function to advanced functions. The original Copilot icon will also be deleted and replaced by a dedicated writing tool icon to help users better understand the purpose of the function.
The actual advanced functions after clicking include available functions such as rewriting text, summarizing the content, changing the tone of the content, etc. The functions are no different from the previous Copilot brand, and the actual call should still be Copilot-related AI services.
Currently, there are still many Copilot brand logos used in Windows 11 pre-installed applications or Microsoft's own applications. It is estimated that these options will be gradually cleared and replaced with corresponding functions of the application, and the Copilot brand will no longer be used.
