Starting from the iPhone 18 series, Apple will officially end the traditional rhythm of releasing new products once every autumn that has been used for more than ten years, and officially adjust the update mode of the iPhone product line to two updates a year. The starting lineup in the fall of 2026 is three blockbuster flagships, namely iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and the folding screen model iPhone Ultra that Apple fans have been waiting for for many years; while the basic iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e, which are more user-friendly, will not be officially launched until the spring of 2027.
According to the latest revelations from the industry chain,The battery capacity of all versions of iPhone 18 Pro Max has exceeded the 5000mAh mark. The battery capacity of the Chinese version falls in the 5000 to 5100mAh range, and the US version has higher specifications, reaching the level of 5100 to 5200mAh.

The battery capacity of the US version of the previous generation iPhone 17 Pro Max is 5088mAh, and the Chinese version is 4823mAh. Only the battery capacity of the US model exceeds the 5000mAh threshold, while the Chinese version is stuck below 5000mAh. This time, the battery capacity of the US version of the iPhone 18 Pro Max directly broke the record of Apple’s mobile phone, becoming the iPhone with the largest battery in Apple’s history.
The core reason why there is a capacity gap between the US version and the China version is that the US version of iPhone has fully popularized pure eSIM technology, and the whole machine does not need to reserve the relevant structure of the physical SIM card slot. All the space saved in the body is used to stack a larger battery. The National Bank version retains the physical SIM card slot, and the internal space is occupied, so the battery capacity is naturally limited.

It is worth mentioning that the previously launched Chinese version of iPhone 17e already supports the eSIM function while retaining the physical SIM card slot. It is generally expected in the industry that the Chinese version of iPhone 18 Pro Max will also adopt a dual combination solution of physical SIM + eSIM.
Now China Unicom, China Mobile and China Telecom, the three major domestic operators, have officially launched eSIM mobile phone-related operating services. Users holding eSIM-enabled mobile phones can directly go to offline business hall stores to apply for related services.
