According to reports, Ms. Zhu, the store manager of a mobile phone store in Jingjiang, Jiangsu, asked the anti-fraud center for urgent help.A man entered the store and directly placed an order for 5 Apple mobile phones. He did not ask about the price throughout the process and was eager to pay. He claimed that he was buying the mobile phones as wedding gifts.
Ms. Zhu, who has received anti-fraud training, noticed that the behavior was abnormal, and while deftly delaying and stabilizing the other party, she reported it to the police.
The anti-fraud center immediately contacted the man who bought the phone, Xiao Liu, for verification. The other party’s story was full of loopholes, saying that his family did not know about the marriage and that he had only met his so-called girlfriend a few times.
The police quickly rushed to the store to deal with the matter. Xiao Liu was very resistant at first, believing that the staff interfered with his marriage. After being taken back to the police station, the police explained the anti-fraud case and patiently persuaded him, and then he confessed the truth about being deceived.
Xiao Liu was previously induced to download a strange APP disguised as a matchmaker or matchmaker, and fell into a rebate scam. When the funds in his platform account could not be withdrawn, the customer service made up a story and told him to buy an Apple mobile phone and mail it to the designated address, so that the account could be unfrozen and the principal withdrawn.
