China Southern Airlines and China Eastern Airlines have recently issued announcements saying,Starting from January 10, 2024, the rules for ticket refunds and changes will be adjusted. The new regulations will make extensive adjustments to ticket refund and change fees and the scope of refunds and changes.This adjustment to the rules for ticket refunds and changes has reduced the proportion of ticket refund and ticket handling fees, expanded the scope and applicable scenarios of free ticket refunds and changes, and reduced the cancellation and change rates for different cabin classes.
Both China Southern Airlines and China Eastern Airlines include factors such as changes in aircraft types causing inability to travel, delays at flight stops, airport transfers, and force majeure into the scope of free refunds and changes to tickets.
The rules for cancellations and changes due to illness have been relaxed, and passengers and accompanying persons (relaxed to 5 people) who are unable to travel due to illness can cancel or change for free;
For companions traveling alone due to flight changes, and for tickets purchased separately that constitute a continuous itinerary under certain conditions, the cancellation fee will be waived when flight irregularities occur.
In addition, the new regulations further expand the scope of free refunds and corrections for misuse.
If the name, ID, voyage, date, cabin and other information are incorrectly filled in when purchasing a ticket, as well as misoperations leading to repeated ticket purchases, free refunds for incorrectly purchased tickets will be provided if certain conditions are met.
If the ticket price decreases after purchasing the ticket, you are allowed to re-purchase the ticket within 24 hours after purchasing the ticket, and the original ticket that meets certain conditions will be refunded free of charge.
