LinuxMint 21.3 has been released, the latest version of an easy-to-use, beginner-friendly desktop Linux distribution currently built on the Ubuntu 22.04 LTS package. Linux Mint 21.3 introduces the Cinnamon 6.0 desktop, improves original internal applications such as Warpinator and HypnotixTV viewer, provides early experimental work around Wayland support, art updates and other changes.

Linux Mint 21.3 continues to be based on the Linux 5.15 LTS kernel by default, but with the upcoming EDGE ISO, they will get the Linux 6.5 kernel. Other software versions provided by LinuxMint21.3 are still derived from Ubuntu22.04LTS.

As for other new features in LinuxMint21.3, its documentation states:

LinuxMint21.3 fully supports SecureBoot and is compatible with more BIOS and EFI implementations.

Use Grub in EFI mode. Isolinux/syslinux is used in BIOS mode.

LinuxMint's tools and framework for generating ISO images have been updated and are now based on the latest version of live-build.

The team also significantly reduced the internal differences between LMDE and LinuxMint ISO images.
