Samsung's switch to a titanium body doesn't make the Galaxy S24 Ultra much lighter than the Galaxy S23 Ultra, but it does make it more durable. As one YouTuber put it through a series of drop and scratch tests on Samsung's first phone, the new body is decked out with the latest Gorilla Glass armor, making it one of this year's toughest flagships.

Although cracks can appear when dropped, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is not a complete disaster. These drop tests were recorded by YouTube channel PBKreviews, which has quickly risen to fame by uploading teardown videos of popular smartphones in record time. For the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the YouTuber showed off a new Titanium Purple exterior that looks stunning.

On the first try, a small crack appeared in the front corner of Samsung's latest flagship, but that's to be expected as there's only so much blunt force the glass can withstand.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra has a titanium casing, and we were impressed that it survived unscathed even after being dropped from the back. We still remember that the camera casing of the iPhone 15 Pro, which also uses a titanium casing, separated from other components after being dropped several times. This shows that Samsung's mobile phones are made better. Unfortunately, the Galaxy S24 Ultra's misery is far from over, as PBKreviews has put it through scratch testing.

Unlike Zach from JerryRigEverything, the latest scratch test involves covering the front of the display with grit and then spreading it around to see if any marks appear on the screen. Sand is a highly abrasive material and luckily the Galaxy S24 Ultra came out unscathed, although there is still some debris left but it's nothing worrying.

The YouTuber most likely did not perform a bend test because Samsung usually produces extremely stiff flagship products, so the Galaxy S24 Ultra will most likely pass the test smoothly.
