[Chinese Space Station prepares the coldest known substance] November 6th, according to the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese scientists relied on the ultra-cold atomic physics experimental cabinet of the China Space Station and used all-optical trap cooling technology to reduce the equivalent temperature of the rubidium atomic cloud to 9.7 picokelvin, which is 14 orders of magnitude lower than room temperature. The observation can last for 7 seconds, breaking the human low temperature record. The results were demonstrated, managed and integrated under the leadership of the Space Application Engineering and Technology Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and jointly completed by Peking University and the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Relevant papers were published in the international academic journal "Science".
