The core is not to have self-developed large models, but to support customers in building excellent large models, so that any large model in the world can run efficiently on Huawei Ascend, Kunpeng, super nodes and clusters.

In this discussion, Guo Ping also talked about Huawei's future business boundaries, AI talents, and chip competitiveness.

Guo Ping said that facing the future, Huawei's core strategy is to "focus" and continue to delve into the fields of connectivity and computing. "There is no business expansion plan." How AI can enter traditional business was also a topic during the discussion. Taking operator networks as an example, Guo Ping said that from 2G to 5G and even future networks, network elements are complex and diverse, and operation and maintenance costs are high. In terms of large models, Huawei has not taken exactly the same route. Guo Ping said that for the ICT and computing business, it is more important to help customers build excellent large models; for terminal and intelligent driving businesses, it is best to have self-developed large models; Huawei Cloud must have competitive self-developed large models because cloud and artificial intelligence are deeply integrated.

When it comes to the basis of AI competition, Guo Ping regards computing power, data and talent as three key elements. He believes that China is relatively lagging behind in terms of computing power, but has advantages in data applications and industrial scenarios, and the two sides are basically equal in terms of talent. He hopes to rely on talents and a good development environment to promote Huawei to establish advantages in the field of artificial intelligence.

Guo Ping said that Huawei is constrained by advanced processes and needs to promote the integration of design and manufacturing to make up for its process deficiencies through comprehensive advantages.
