Abstract:
According to the "Wall Street Journal" report, according to people familiar with the matter, Amazon is negotiating with the AI startup Decart, and the transaction valuation may reach approximately US$7 billion. Based in San Francisco, Decart's software makes it easier for developers to switch between different AI chips. This capability is becoming increasingly important as companies compete for more computing power.

If talks don't break down and no other bidder emerges, a deal could be done soon, people familiar with the matter said.
Decart has raised more than $400 million in venture capital from investors including Sequoia Capital, Benchmark and Radical Ventures, according to private market data firm PitchBook. In May this year, the company was valued at nearly $4 billion.
Decart was founded in 2023 by three Israeli engineers, brothers Dean and Orian Leitersdorf, and Moshe Shalev. The company is also developing world models called Lucy and Oasis. World models are capable of generating and simulating real-world three-dimensional environments.
Amazon has developed its own custom AI chip, Trainium 3, to compete with Nvidia. Nvidia still dominates the graphics processor market, and these specialized chips are the core hardware driving the AI boom. The Wall Street Journal previously reported that Amazon Cloud Services was impressed by its founder after meeting with Decart in 2025 and provided the company with early access to the Trainium 3 chip.
Amazon’s other large acquisitions in recent years include its $6.5 billion purchase of MGM film and television studios in 2022, and its acquisition of Starlink competitor Globalstar for about $11 billion announced earlier this year.
