Abstract:
Although there have been recent rumors in the market that Apple may shorten the life cycle of some M series chips and speed up the pace of product iterations,
a set of newly exposed benchmark test results show that the new generation of Apple chips, codenamed M6 Pro, has entered the testing stage, and related research and development work is still progressing as planned.
According to the latest discovered benchmark records, an Apple device equipped with the M6 Pro chip has appeared in the performance database. Although Apple has not publicly confirmed the existence of this product, relevant information shows that this new processor continues Apple’s path of continuously strengthening professional-level computing platforms in recent years.
Judging from the exposure data, the M6 Pro continues to improve its computing performance compared to existing products of the same level. Test results show that the performance of the new chip has improved in both single-core and multi-core tasks, reflecting that Apple is still driving performance growth through architectural optimization, core design adjustments, and system-level improvements.
It is worth noting that when this benchmark appears, there is a view circulating in the outside world that some of Apple's future M series products may not maintain a long product cycle as in the past, but will adapt to the changing needs of the artificial intelligence and high-performance computing markets through faster update frequency.
However, the emergence of M6 Pro test samples seems to indicate that even if Apple adjusts its product rhythm in the future, the professional-grade chip roadmap itself has not changed significantly.
According to Apple's development pattern in recent years, the Pro series of chips is mainly targeted at the high-performance MacBook Pro and some professional-grade desktop equipment markets. However, there is currently no evidence that Apple has abandoned any of its core M series product lines. On the contrary, the emergence of the M6 Pro test results further proves that the company is still continuing to promote the development of the next generation of self-developed processors and reserving new hardware foundations for future Mac products.
For Apple, since the launch of the Apple Silicon strategy in 2020, M series chips have become the core competitiveness of the entire Mac ecosystem.
